Bobby Brazier is set to return to Albert Square after seven months off in the coming weeks, but before that, he's bagged a brand new spin-off series of EastEnders.
The actor, who plays Freddie Slater but took time off to star in Strictly Come Dancing and its subsequent live tour, will come back to the soap alongside Laila Morse, who plays Mo Harris, Freddie's great-grandmother.
But showing the pair's antics while away from Walford, a new digital-only spin off series is set to be released on social media, titled 'The Point of Mo Return'. The series is said to show "Freddie’s close bond with Mo as he tests her patience with various pranks and social media challenges over the course of his stay".
It also gives fans "a glimpse into Freddie’s experience with ADHD as he attempts to educate his nan and his followers on his diagnosis". It has six episodes available on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
Speaking on the spin-off during a recent appearance on The One Show, Bobby shared: "I guess it's an insight into Freddy and Mo living together in a caravan, and I'm playing pranks on her and just doing the kind of silly stuff that Freddy would do with his great-grandmother. It was funny. It was a really funny day."
Bobby took on the role of Freddie in 2022 and has been a smash hit on the show, even bagging the Rising Star gong at the National Television Awards last year.
During his time away from EastEnders, the actor has not only been focusing on Strictly and living up a celeb lifestyle, but he has also been working on an upcoming Paramount+ show, Curfew.
Curfew is a six-part series that began filming in London earlier this year, based on Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark. It is set in a society governed by ‘The Women’s Safety Act’, where men are all tracked by ankle tags and are confined to their homes by a strict 7pm curfew every night.
Sarah Parish also stars in the show as police officer Pamela, while Bobby plays James, a vocal schoolboy who advocates the abolishment of the curfew.
He’s not the only EastEnder in the cast - two former stars of the soap also have roles in the thriller. Lucy Benjamin plays DCI Sue Ferguson, Pamela’s superior, while soap legend Anita Dobson is Janet, a woman who runs a ‘motherhouse’, a refuge-style home for women who do not wish to live with men.
