Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice today released a statement over allegations surrounding his time on the BBC dance show.
The pro - who is rumoured to be leaving the show before the next series - said: "I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name."
In a message posted on Instagram in the early hours of the morning, Giovanni wrote: "To my dear fans, You will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week.
"Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name.
"Those who have followed my journey on Strictly Come Dancing over the last decade will know that I am passionate and competitive. No-one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me.
"I have always striven to help them be the very best dancers they can be. This has always come from a place of love and wanting to win - for me and my dance partners.
"Thank you all once again for your continued love and support!" He signed off the post: "Giovanni."
Strictly Come Dancing broadcaster the BBC has launched an internal investigation after three former contestants instructed lawyers. News of the formal complaints - logged separately but by the same legal firm - come after it was claimed Giovanni had quit.
During an appearance on The One Show, Giovanni defended the way he trains his celebrity partners. He said: "I'm definitely a perfectionist. Like everybody else, I like to win."
But he insisted: "For me it's more about bringing the best out of partners, especially if I see that there is talent there. I want to do my job properly."
