Prince William has provided an update on his wife Kate Middleton following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The Prince of Wales confirmed that the princess is "doing well" during a visit to a hospital on the Isles of Scilly.
During his visit to St Mary's Community Hospital, William was told about a new facility for health and social care that was being built near the hospital. He was also given a letter by matron Lynda McHale which had been sweetly written by her granddaughter, wishing Kate and King Charles the best in her cancer recovery.
With the weather brighter, William said his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were "very jealous" of his trip down south and is hoping to bring them to Cornwall later in the year.
William has been gradually returning to his royal duties after his wife, Kate, bravely shared her cancer diagnosis and ongoing chemotherapy treatment last month.
When sharing the news with the public via a video posted online, Kate asked for understanding and privacy during her treatment. She also openly expressed that the diagnosis was a massive shock, and she and William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family".
It has not been confirmed when Kate will return to royal duties as she continues her cancer treatment. Meanwhile, her father-in-law King Charles resumed public duties at the end of April after he was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February.
Earlier this month on 2 May, the royal couple celebrated their daughter, Charlotte's ninth birthday and marked the day by sharing a new photograph. The snap, which was taken by Kate, shows the little Princess posing in a navy blue jumper, maroon cardigan and denim skirt.
Alongside the image, which was shared on the couple's social media, a caption read: "Happy 9th Birthday, Princess Charlotte! Thank you for all of the kind messages today." This isn't the only occasion the Wales family have marked recently, as they also celebrated Louis' sixth birthday on April 23 and the Prince and Princess of Wales' 13th wedding anniversary on April 29.
For this, the royal couple delighted fans as they released an unseen photograph from their wedding day in 2011. The gorgeous snap shows the newlyweds beaming and looking relaxed at Buckingham Palace after their ceremony.
