Bridget Jones' Renee Zellweger films romantic date with One Day's Leo Woodall for 4th film

Filming is well underway for the fourth Bridget Jones franchise as Renee Zellweger was spotted on set with One Day's Leo Woodall for a romantic date scene in London. The highly-anticipated movie, announced just last month, is going under the title of Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy, drawing its name directly from Helen Fielding's most recent Bridget Jones novel penned in 2013.

As per the book, our beloved Bridget is now a widow and mum of two, approaching her 50s after the heartbreaking loss of Mark Darcy, iconically played by Colin Firth in the first three films. Helen explained that the decision to axe Darcy was due to not wanting the narrative to centre solely around Bridget as "a smug married", reports the Express.

Although this highly suggests Colin won't make a reappearance, fan favourites Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson are confirmed to be reprising their roles, joining Renee, 55. Excitingly, the cast will welcome fresh faces, such as Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo, 27, who is reportedly playing Bridget's young lover.
