Doctor Who fans can hardly contain their excitement as Ncuti Gatwa finally steps out of the TARDIS this weekend as the fifteenth Doctor, with two back-to-back episodes to look forward to.

The first is Space Babies, a creepy premise from the pen of returning series writer Russell T. Davies which will see the Doctor and his new companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) travel to the far future where they encounter a baby farm, run by talking babies hoping to be saved from the terrifying Bogeyman.

As usual, the series has lined up some impressive guest stars for its first episode back who will join the new show leads as they set the tone for their series.

Space Babies is set to be followed immediately by second episode The Devil's Chord, with RuPaul's Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon as the guest star, as the Doctor and Ruby meet The Beatles and find that the all-powerful Maestro is changing history.

Fans of Coronation Street star Millie will also be pleased to know that she is sticking around at Doctor Who after reports that she had been replaced - she is in fact due to be joined by a second companion, played by Varada Sethu, in the next series.

Millie called it "a little bit of a misunderstanding" and added: "But I’m very much in season two."

Here are some of the recognisable faces to look out for in Space Babies as Doctor Who makes its big return to BBC One on Saturday, 11 May.

Angela Wynter - Cherry Sunday

Another well-known star joining the Sunday family is EastEnders' Angela Wynter as Cherry.

Soap fans will know that Angela's Albert Square character Yolande Trueman has been going through a very tough time after being assaulted by Pastor Clayton, so hopefully Cherry will get an easier time and not come into contact with too many Doctor Who monsters.

Angela is also known for roles in Doctors, Holby City, Three Little Birds, This England and Whitstable Pearl.

Doctor Who returns on Saturday, 11 May at 6.20pm and 7.05pm on BBC One
