Emmerdale fans are accustomed to seeing Rosie Bentham grace their screens as the beloved Gabby Thomas. However, the actress recently decided to take a break from the dramatic twists and turns of the Yorkshire village and jet off to sunny Barcelona.
Joining her on this escapade was none other than her co-star and close friend, Daisy Campbell, known for her role as Amelia Spencer on the show. Rosie, who regularly shares snippets of her life on Instagram, delighted fans with glimpses of their Spanish adventure.
From exploring bustling streets to admiring iconic landmarks, the duo made the most of their time in Barcelona. This isn't their first joint expedition; in 2022, Rosie and Daisy encountered a hiccup during a trip to Ibiza when their bags were stolen.
Despite the setback, they embraced the moment and forged ahead, eventually salvaging their holiday and creating unforgettable memories. At the time, she posted on social media: "Sorry me and @rosie_betham have been a bit MIA. It would be me and us to get the whole of our bags stolen on the second night, with 0 phones for most of the hol." She added: "But we lived in the moment ahahaha and then eventually got new phones."
Since assuming the role of Gabby Thomas on Emmerdale in January 2016, Gabby's character arc has been a rollercoaster ride, allowing Rosie to prove her acting chops. From grappling with her father Ashley Thomas' heartbreaking battle with dementia to navigating the complexities of motherhood after giving birth to her son, Thomas, in 2021 following a tumultuous encounter with Jamie Tate at Home Farm Estate, Gabby has been at the centre of captivating storylines in the picturesque backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales.
Away from the Dales, Rosie’s own life is less drama-filled. Back in September 2023, Rosie revealed that she was actually off the market, and shared that she's in the early stages of dating someone. However, she was quick to note that she's nothing like her character, and prefers to keep her private life to herself. Perhaps why we're yet to see any snaps of the mystery man on her socials.
She said of her new romance: "I would say that I’m getting to know someone at the moment but I’m very private when it comes to my love life. I’m only 22 and things can go wrong pretty quickly at my age, so we’re just taking things slowly. We’re all finding our way."
Rosie then went on to admit to The Sun that she's "always been quite cautious" in terms of who she dates, often opting for someone away from the spotlight and the glitz and glamour of showbiz. "The guy I’m getting to know is just a normal guy," she added.
