Gemma Collins has detailed her “heartbreaking” weekend after revealing that she needed to take her beloved dog Blue to the emergency vets after they were bitten by another dog.
43 year old Gemma, who recently surprised fans when she opened up on her unexpected friendship with a Hollywood star, became an “official dog mum” in September 2023 when she welcomed Blue into her family.
But in an emotional Instagram post shared on Monday, 20 May, the former The Only Way Is Essex star thanked pals Jedward for their support as she revealed that she was left “distressed” after taking Blue to the emergency vets for treatment.
“I’ve had the most heart breaking upset this weekend a dog entered my property and bit my blue I want to thank the emergency vets and @jepicpics for helping me whilst I was so distressed,” she wrote.
After sharing the heartbreaking announcement, the TV personality asked her followers if they had any advice about what to do in her situation before thanking musicians John and Edward again for being by her side.
She added: “Can anyone advise if a dog enters your property and bites your dog what course of action is needed as you can imagine I’m in complete shock thank god my for cameras on the property as I caught the owners.
“John and Edward was amazing thank you @jepicpics I’m so happy your blues dog fathers for all your help and love in this traumatic time”.
In response to the post, Gemma’s followers flooded the comments section with support as they sent their well wishes to the TV star and Blue.
“Aw poor little things sending love xx,” wrote one. “Aw poor baby Sending love to a baby boy blue,” added another.
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Oh babe so upsetting. Hope blue is OK and those boys are so lovely”.
The news comes after Gemma got engaged to partner Rami Hawash back in March in a dreamy proposal in the Maldives.
“I thought we were just going on holiday for my birthday,” she exclusively told OK!. “I can’t believe I didn’t know anything was going on. I’m usually on the ball but I had no idea.”
She continued: “"We went for dinner and it was sushi – my favourite food – and then Rami got up to go to the loo. I was looking at what was going on around me so I didn’t realise he’d got back. He then said, “Look over there,” and in lights it read, 'Will you marry me?'
“It was such a beautiful moment. He then walked me down to the beach, which they’d closed just for us, and there were hundreds of roses on the sand. It looked like Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian ’s proposal!”
