A leading royal expert has explained where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be looking for inspiration when it comes to making money and regaining a popular status.
And it is no further than the example set by Harry's cousin, Zara Tindall and her husband Mike. The popular and sporty duo are fresh from their annual work trip to Australia to promote Magic Millions and received endless praise during their loved-up appearances.
Speaking to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained: "They really could teach them a thing or two, couldn't they? I think the Sussexes should definitely take a leaf out of the Tindalls’ book.
"Harry can’t change the fact that he is a Prince, but they could stop calling themselves Duke and Duchess… and why insist on using their children’s royal titles?
"Zara and Mike have shown that they can enjoy enormous freedom without royal titles, they can earn a great deal of money through hard work, and yes, through who they are.
"But they also play their full part in the Royal Family, attending public and private occasions and accepting their place in that family without jostling for position.
"They don’t whinge, they don’t moan, they don’t attack the press for being interested, they don’t march to court if they are pictured in swimming gear... they just embrace life, and love, supporting Uncle Charles, the King, in any way they can.
"And, as we’ve all seen, Mike has become almost a proxy brother to William. Just the sort of balanced, cheerful, no nonsense person who can keep William’s feet on the ground, and share a laugh with him. Go the Tindalls! They really are a joy to see."
Jennie's comments come after top royal author Robert Jobson wrote in the Daily Mail: "It’s been suggested that the Tindall’s earning power could have even greater potential than that of Zara’s cousin Harry and wife Meghan in Montecito.
"One analyst, Giles Kenningham from Trafalgar Strategy, said yesterday that the Tindalls are now the ‘premier royal couple’ when it comes to commercial deals as the Harry and Meghan brand has become tarnished.
"It would be daft to write the Sussexes off just yet. But we can be clear about this: unencumbered by royal titles or regal airs, Zara and Mike Tindall have made a huge success all round.
"And unlike the Sussexes, they’ve achieved it without disclosing family secrets or attacking the monarchy."
