Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa makes his debut as the fifteenth Doctor in the BBC series this weekend, and he has been taking his training for the iconic role very seriously.
Ncuti, 31, first found fame in Sex Education and since then has impressed fans not only with his acting talent, but also with the results of his hard work in the gym.
He has thrilled fans with gym selfies to show how he has honed his body through a committed training regime, building huge biceps and thighs, chiselled abs and defined glutes.
In January, Ncuti sent fans wild with some revealing gym snaps which he captioned: "First thirst trap of 2024 courtesy of @savagexfenty."
Amongst the comments were Davina McCall posting a series of clapping emojis, and one fan who commented: "Thighs??? Slay queen.
Another fan wrote: "Omg doctor I'm passing out help me," as someone else commented: "Doctor Who? Doctor HIM! That's for sure." "So glad I live in the timeline where the Doctor posts thirst traps," wrote another of his followers.
It isn't just Ncuti's gym selfies that have been drawing attention, as he is known for some bold red carpet outfit choices that show off his toned physique.
Earlier this year he wore a silver metal breast plate to the Vanity Fair Oscars party that defined his pecs and abs, with one fan sharing on Instagram: "hottest. doctor. ever."
He has also been the cover star of various glossy magazines where he has had the chance to reveal his hard work in the gym and shared some of the shots from an edition of Attitude magazine on Instagram in April, with one person commenting: "Soooooo where do I sign up to be a companion?"
Last June, Ncuti proudly showed off a nude photoshoot for British Vogue and in an accompanying interview, gave a glimpse of how he trains.
He said of his time on Sex Education: "I used to train at this gym with a lot of ex-cons and bodybuilders, and these guys would come up to me like, ‘Eric’s my favourite character,’ or ‘You’re my girlfriend’s favourite character,’ and I’m like, ‘Don’t lie!’ It was so cool because I could see the show opening up people’s minds."
He also told British GQ when asked about his travel essentials: "Booty bands. I travel with these everywhere. 20 fire hydrants one leg, 20 fire hydrants the other leg. 20 donkey kicks one leg, 20 donkey kicks the other leg. We do that four times round. You're gonna get a fat ass if you do that!"
In his social media posts, Ncuti has given a shout out to his personal trainer David Higgins, who has also worked with Marvel stars including Simu Liu and Kumail Nanjiani.
Ahead of the new series of Doctor Who, which opens with two episodes entitled Space Babies and The Devil's Chord on Saturday, 11 May, Ncuti said: "This series is so cinematic and beautiful. There's nowhere else on British TV where you get stories like this. We've poured our blood, sweat and tears into it, and I can't wait for everyone to see it!"
Doctor Who returns on Saturday, 11 May at 6.20pm and 7.05pm on BBC One
