Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to celebrate their sixth anniversary of marriage on Sunday, 19 May, and the pair look more loved-up than ever of late.
The pair first met on a blind date in 2016, with a smitten Harry popping the question a year later, in 2017. In a similarly fast fashion, they tied the knot at Windsor Castle in April 2018, with the eyes of the world upon them.
Their wedding was attended by a number of glamorous A-Listers, including David and Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.
Following the ceremony, Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, enjoyed a smaller reception at Frogmore House, with the Duchess of Sussex wearing a dazzling aquamarine diamond ring from her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's collection that was gifted to her by Prince Harry.
But their life as working members of the Royal Family got off to a rocky start, and in January 2020, they announced they would be stepping down from the Firm.
Distancing themselves even further from the Royal Family, the pair upped sticks and moved to California with their son, Prince Archie, now five. They welcomed a daughter named Princess Lilibet in June 2021.
The Sussex family now live in a sprawling mansion in Montecito, California, and Harry and Meghan signed a number of multi-million dollar deals, including one with Netflix, as they forge their lives away from the Royals.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond gave some insight into the 'madly romantic' idea Harry might have for their anniversary, and detailed the gift Meghan might give to Harry as well as how their evening together might pan out.
"There’s no doubt that after six years of marriage, Harry and Meghan look just as much in love as ever. They are always holding hands and in Nigeria Harry was filmed sweetly kissing his wife on the head," she told us.
"I think most right minded people would simply wish them well and hope that this troubled young man – now not quite so young – has truly found the love and family life he longed for.
"I’ve no doubt that Harry will come up with some madly romantic idea for the anniversary and Meghan will probably find a gift full of symbolism and significance. They will probably spend it privately with their children around them with perhaps a romantic dinner for two in the evening."
Harry and Meghan recently had all eyes on them as they embarked on what has been billed as an 'unofficial Royal tour' in Nigeria. Whilst there, Meghan donned a stunning gold and diamond cross necklace that was gifted to her by Harry, and was previously owned by Princess Diana.
Meghan has been gifted many of Diana's jewellery items over the years by an ever-romantic Prince Harry.
According to CrissCut magazine, he's also given her a car inspired by the couple’s favourite film, to a painting depicting a couple holding hands that cemented their relationship.
