Amy Walsh’s stunning wedding look wouldn’t have been complete without two special gifts from her sister, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh.
Emmerdale actress Amy, 36, and actor Toby-Alexander Smith, 32, who share daughter Bonnie, 20 months, married in a beautiful ceremony on the coast of Montenegro, covered exclusively by OK!
On the day, older sister Kimberley, 41, completed Amy’s “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” by loaning her a very special family heirloom and a coveted pair of earrings.
“I hadn’t thought about the ‘something old, new, borrowed and blue’, but luckily my bridesmaids had,” she told us afterwards.
“Sally gave me her garter from her wedding day, which has some blue on it, and my sister Kimberley gave me the ring she inherited from my grandma. She wears it every day and it epitomises my grandma.
“I wore it on my little finger so I had my grandma and grandad with me on the day, which was amazing.”
Complimenting Amy’s gorgeous ball gown-esque dress, by American designer Enzoani, Kimberley also loaned a pair of dainty earrings that Amy admitted she’d been admiring for a while.
“Again, Kimberley lent me her Chanel earrings, which were amazing,” she said. “I’d seen her wearing them one day and told her ‘oh I’ve been looking for something like that for the wedding’. Then on the day she gave me them to wear!”
Former EastEnders actor Toby and Amy were joined by 100 of their nearest and dearest at the Talici Hill Rustic Villas - a 17th century property they fell in love with when they scoped it out eight months as a possible venue.
Kimberley and other big sister Sally were two of Amy’s six bridesmaids - joining cousins Leonie and Joelle, and “best friends for life” Sarah and Kim - helping Amy to get ready for her big reveal at the aisle.
Despite the morning being more stressful than the bride would’ve liked due to the juggle of childcare and hosting 100 guests in a foreign country, Kimberley and the rest of the bridesmaid gang were “amazing”, she said.
In fact, the whole day was “perfect”, in no small part to a few surprises from new husband Toby.
“It was honestly the most perfect day,” she said. “It surpassed all my expectations and more. I felt so surprisingly present on the day and loved every second. Now I’m just in pure bliss.”
As well as the earrings and ring from Kimberley, there were a few more surprises in store for Amy. Moments after being pronounced husband and wife, Amy learned that Toby had secretly flown out one of her favourite singers - Sonny Tennet - to perform the songs they'd picked for their return down the aisle and their first dance.
“I’ve never been more shocked in my life,” she admitted. “I just couldn’t believe it. I’m such a big fan and watch Sonny’s live videos all the time.
