King Charles
Following Queen Elizabeth II's death on September 8, 2022, King Charles succeeded his mother at the age of 73 - making him the oldest person to assume the throne in British history. Born at Buckingham Palace in 1948, His Majesty has dedicated over five decades to his charities, official duties and the Commonwealth. Among his most notable achievements are his incredible work with The Prince’s Trust and his stance on the environment and climate change. Then the Prince of Wales, Charles married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 and they had two children: Prince William (b. 1982) and Prince Harry (b. 1984). After separating in 1992 and officially divorcing in 1996, the King went on to marry his long-term love, Camilla Parker Bowles, in 2005. Their Majesties were crowned alongside one another at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
