Prince Harry is reportedly set to miss the wedding of his son Prince Archie's godfather next month, in a bid to avoid further tension with his Royal relatives. Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, is one of Prince Archie's godfathers yet despite the close link to Harry and wife Meghan Markle, they have reportedly declined to attend his upcoming nuptials at Chester Cathedral next month as he weds Olivia Henson.
Prince William is however set to attend as one of the 400 guests, according to reports, but King Charles and Princess Kate will not be in attendance as they continue to undergo their cancer treatments. Charles and Princess Kate are understood to have respectfully declined due to their cancer treatments, whilst Harry and Meghan's reason for staying away from the nuptials is thought to be to avoid any tension or awkward family moments with other royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have reportedly chosen to miss the Duke of Westminster's wedding so as not to cause a scene while Prince William takes on the role of usher. This according to a close friend who told The Sun: "Hugh is one of the very few close friends of William and Harry's who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both. He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realises it's unlikely to happen before the wedding.", reports the Mirror.
After their recent trip to Nigeria, which by all accounts was a success, Harry and Meghan have returned stateside. Following his triumphant return to England for the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary celebrations, Harry reunited with Meghan at Heathrow before jetting off once more, this time to West Africa.
Having enjoyed a series of events and engagements during their visit, the couple are bound to be pleased with how the trip went.
Since their brief visit to the West African nation, it appears that things might be on the upswing for the couple. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Royal commentator and expert Richard Fitzwilliams revealed: "The Sussexes celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday (May 19). After their successful three day trip to Nigeria, which, though private, was much like a royal tour, things could be looking up for them if they plan their future activities with care."
He further added: "Meghan's programme for Netflix on cookery and entertaining and her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard and Harry's series for Netflix on polo, show some much needed activity. They clearly need more A list endorsements however."
