Prince Harry revealed a quirky household habit he shares with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, which leaves his wife Meghan Markle baffled.
In the 2018 BBC documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, celebrating Prince Charles' 70th birthday, Harry, along with his brother William, shared some intimate details about their lives.
Among these was Harry's admission that he still refers to the late Princess Diana as 'Mummy' and his request for his father to walk Meghan down the aisle at their wedding. However, one peculiar revelation was the trio's obsession with turning off lights, a habit instilled by Prince Charles.
Harry confessed in the documentary: "He's a stickler for turning lights off."
He continued: "And that's now something that I'm obsessed with as well, which is insane because actually, my wife goes 'Well, why turn the lights off? You know it's dark'."
Harry added: "I go 'we only need one light, we don't need like six', and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit and those small habit changes he's making, every single person can do. And I think that's one of the key lessons certainly that I felt that he taught us.", reports the Mirror.
William wholeheartedly concurred with Harry, confessing: "I know I've got serious OCD on light switches now which is terrible."
But it's not just about switching off lights; Charles has instilled other eco-friendly habits in his children.
The brothers shared that their father has always been a proponent of picking up litter during their outdoor adventures.
"I used to get taken the mickey out of at school for just picking up rubbish," Harry revealed.
He added: "I don't go consciously looking for it. When you go for walks anywhere, if you see something, it stands out, you pick it up."
Harry concluded with a reflective note: "It's like I've literally done this because I'm programmed to do it, because my father did it. Actually, we should all be doing it."
