Anne, Princess Royal
The Princess Royal was born at Clarence House on August 15, 1950 to the-then Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and was second in line to the throne when her mother acceded as Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. Princess Anne decided against going to university and started carrying out royal engagements at the age of 18. As a result of her unwavering dedication, Princess Anne is frequently named the 'hardest working royal', and is keenly involved with charities such as Save the Children, the Olympics, the Paralympics, St John's Ambulance and the Riding for the Disabled Association. She first married Captain Mark Phillips in 1973 and the couple welcomed their two children: Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. Following their divorce in April 1992, she married Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in December of the same year.
