Princess Charlotte made a cheeky response when an aide tried to help her with a lovely gift back in 2019, as her mum, Kate Middleton has labelled her 'the boss'.
It's clear that the young Royal, who recently turned nine years old, has grown in confidence over the years, winning over the public on Royal outings and even keeping her two brothers in check.
Her self-confidence and independence were most noticeable back in 2019 when she attended the annual Christmas Day service with her family.
Charlotte, who was only four at the time, joined mum Kate after the service as they chatted with well-wishers outside the church. The little Princess was given a bunch of white roses by one fan - and she clearly took a shine to them.
Aides usually handle bouquets so members of the Royal Family can keep their hands free and chat with other well-wishers. But, when an aide offered to carry Charlotte's flowers, she firmly shook her head and refused to let them go.
She continued to hold the bunch as she walked back to Sandringham House with the rest of the royals. Royal expert Katie Nicholl previously told the Mirror: "Charlotte is the most buoyant and outgoing of the three Cambridge children. It's that strength of character that will stand her in good stead when she's older," reports the Mirror.
The late Queen previously commented on her great-granddaughter's charming personality back in 2018. At the time, she was presenting a book to ten year old school student, Emily Clay.
According to Town & Country, when the Queen asked a student if she looked after her younger sister, Emily's mum responded, "It's the other way around," to which the Queen replied, "It's like that with Charlotte and George".
Charlotte is also incredibly protective of her little brother, Prince Louis. In a snap shared by William and Kate for Charlotte's third birthday, she was seen cradling baby Louis in her lap and planting a sweet kiss on her sleeping brother's head.
The young princess also showered her baby brother with affection in photos from Louis' christening in 2018. While everyone else posed for the camera and smiled, proud big sister Charlotte only had eyes for Louis as she lovingly gazed at him and held his hand.
And it's clear that Louis looks up to his sister. In 2021, Prince William revealed that the family of five loves to play music in the morning and the kids dance around the house.
"Charlotte, particularly, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything," the proud dad shared. "She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing."
