This year’s BRIT Awards has already seen some incredible looks hitting the red carpet, and we’re not just talking about the fashion. The attendees have already given us some major inspiration – and envy – with their glowing makeup, and Zara McDermott was leading the pack with her bronzed beauty look.
The presenter looked stunning in a floor length red lace dress, but it was her makeup that really caught our eye, as she opted for classic glamour with a dark red lip and a fresh, natural-looking complexion. Zara shared a glimpse into her red carpet prep over on Instagram, revealing that she used two products to create her dreamy makeup base, citing the L'Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion, £18.75 here, and the L'Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, £11.99 here (was £14.99), as the products responsible.
Sharing a snap of the beauty products to her Instagram stories, Zara wrote: “Mixing True Match with some tinted serum, and also some GLOTION!” before adding: “The dream base for BRITS makeup.”
The True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum has a sheer formula that adapts to a variety of skin tones, and includes 1% hyaluronic acid which helps hydrate your skin whilst giving it a soft, dewy glow. The combination of skincare and makeup helps give the benefits of a serum with the coverage of foundation, whilst also illuminating and concealing for a barely-there finish.
What’s more, you apply it just like you would a regular serum, which means no cleaning brushes or wasting product. Simply apply two to three drops to your palms and then spread into your skin, just like you would with your usual skincare products.
For some added glow, the Glotion instantly hydrates and luminises your skin, giving it an all-over natural-looking radiant finish. It’s infused with glycerin and shea butter which gives you all day (or night, in Zara’s case) hydration, and can be worn alone or mixed with your usual foundation like Zara did.
It can also be used to emphasise certain areas like your cheekbones and cupids bow, as well as working as a body highlighter to help add some extra glow and luminosity to high points like your collarbones and shoulders.
If you’re keen to try Zara’s glowy look but are on a super tight budget, Revolution Pro’s Cc Perfecting Glow Enhancer is currently reduced from £10 to £8 here at Superdrug. The Glow Enhancer has a skincare-led formula that helps define and enhance your skin for a subtle, dewy finish, and is enriched with Vitamin E to help keep your skin healthy whilst wearing it.
If you want to enhance your skincare routine, we’ve also tracked down an affordable alternative to Abbey Clancy ’s pre-BRITS laser skincare treatment, and for more BRITS red carpet inspo, we’re keeping tabs on the red carpet arrivals here.
